I haven’t been shooting a lot of fashion lately, so it was cool to get the opportunity to photograph the new lookbook for the Munich brand Schacky & Jones. I’ve forgotten how nice and comfortable it is shooting in a studio, man! There is a coffee machine brewing up fresh coffee on demand, the sound system blasts your favorite music, you don’t have to haul loads of gear through the bush and up a mountain, and I actually had my ass firmly planted in a chair most of the day while pressing the shutter button. The challenge with shooting fashion consists more of getting the tone and the mood of the images right and being really precise about capturing the “magic” moments in the model’s poses. We were very fortunate to have a great girl in front of the camera though, Daniela (check her Tumblr), who really nailed it once we had the client’s wishes and my ideas dialed in.
